Be the hands and feet of Jesus at Selma community cleanup

The Selma Ministries Association would like to invite Christians out for our 10th annual Arms Around Selma event.

At 8 a.m. this Saturday, Nov. 17, volunteers will come together in the parking lot at Selma Elementary to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We hope to meet area needs for our community including but not confined to anything except what you are willing to do for others in our community. We have raked leaves, trimmed bushes, painted, cleaned business windows, prayed over places, picked up trash, worshiped with members of rest homes, power-washed, built wheelchair ramps and fulfilled many other needs.

We are adding a human resources class to help those who need jobs including those with past records. This class will teach about resumes, interviews, dress and other tips. Pastor Pam Ballard will lead that class from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Selma Tabernacle. We hope you will come out and volunteer four hours to help our brothers and sisters in need. God’s word says what we do for the least of these we do for Him.

If you know of someone in need, please call me at 919-631-0702. I think St. John’s AME is hosting lunch and someone from Selma Original Free Will Baptist will be cooking hot dogs. Biscuits will be provided by WTW ministries that morning.

If you or your church would like to lead a project or have any questions, please contact me. May God bless our community.
