Church plans food giveaway

Recovery fair scheduled Tuesday

Wilson Community College, in collaboration with Eastpointe, is hosting a recovery fair from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13 on the Building F lawn. Walk for Life open house planned

ROCKY MOUNT — Your Choice Pregnancy Center, 400 Sunset Ave., will host a Walk for Life open house from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20.

Walkers may drop off their money and pick up their T-shirt and Chick-fil-A gift card at their convenience during the open house. Light refreshments will be served.

Bank schedules food drive

KS Bank, 2846 Ward Blvd., will hold a food drive from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21. Employees will collect canned goods for donation to New Christian Food Pantry.

Free barbecue sandwiches will be provided for donated cans or monetary gifts.

Genealogical society to meet

The Wilson County Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 in the Wilson County Public Library assembly room, 249 Nash St. Brian Grawburg, a local resident and genealogist, will be the guest speaker.

OIC plans food distribution

The Opportunities Industrialization Center of Wilson will hold its quarterly emergency food distribution from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 801 Reid St. E.

Gardens plan ‘Succulent Saturday’

Succulent Saturday will be held 1 - 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at the STEM Garden of Wilson Botanical Gardens, 1806 Goldsboro St. SW. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers.
