Airport holds Skyfest on Saturday
SMITHFIELD — The Johnston County Regional Airport, 3149 Swift Creek Road, will host Skyfest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. The free event features aerial demonstrations including parachute jumps, rappel teams and flight demos. Static aircraft displays will be on hand and Skyfest also includes an outdoor concert and kids’ area.
Concert will mark album release
RALEIGH — Johnston County singer-songwriter Andrew Kurtz will celebrate the release of his album “Outpour” by performing as the opening act for Annika Bovender’s concert planned from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 at Point Church, 3700 Lake Wheeler Road.
Admission is a $5 suggested donation at the door. Merchandise and copies of Kurtz’s new CD will be available for purchase.
St. Montaque plans worship service
CLAYTON — St. Montaque Chapel, 1042 Merlin Road, will have Sunday school at 10 a.m. and morning worship at 11:15.a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. Midweek Bible study will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Homecoming service scheduled
KENLY — Kenly United Methodist Church, 201 E. Second St., will celebrate homecoming at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The Rev. Paul Dunham will deliver the message. Lunch will follow the service.
Church to celebrate anniversary
PRINCETON — St. Stephens Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, 308 W. First St., will celebrate its 120th church anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. Presiding prelate Carlton Richardson from The Rock Church of Deliverance in Washington will render the service. A service will also be held at 3 p.m. the same day with Bishop Addie Harris Rawls along with The New Generation Christian Church of Wilson’s Mills rendering the service. Lunch will follow the morning service.
Park to show ‘Hotel Transylvania’
SMITHFIELD — The town of Smithfield will hold a family-friendly Movie in the Park event from 6-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 with a free showing of “Hotel Transylvania” in the Smithfield Community Park.
Town to host trunk-or-treat
SMITHFIELD — A trunk-or-treat is planned from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 26 at Smithfield Community Park. Children can attend in costume to receive early Halloween treats.
