MACON — Mr. Jesse Morris Brannan Jr., 83, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Johnston County to the late Jessie Morris Brannan Sr. and Zilphia Barham Brannan. Jesse was also preceded in death by a son, Scott Brannan; and a sister, Rose Carolyn Brannan Roseveare.
Mr. Brannan was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, was a member of the Churchill-Five Forks Volunteer Fire Department, was a member of the Lake Gaston Striper Club and volunteered at the Eastern Bluebird Rescue Group.
The Rev. Blake Jackson conducted funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 at Gardner’s Baptist Church with burial following in the Greenwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Farrington Brannan; his son, Roy Eugene Brannan, and wife, Laura Beth; his siblings, Linda Lou Pulley, Sue Brannan Plaster, Thomas Brannan and Sam Brannan; his grandchildren, Hunter Morris Brannan, Jakob Alexander Brannan, Colby Aaron Brannan and Blake Patrick Brannan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sam Brannan, Kim Smith, Linda Smith, Jack and Sarah West, Joe and Mary Wilson, Teresa Bullock and the doctors, nurses and staff at Maria Parham Cancer Center for their care and compassion for Jesse during his time of need.
The family asks that any memorials be made to the Churchill-Five Forks Volunteer Fire Department or to the American Cancer Society.
