GOLDSBORO — A Wayne County teenager accused of making child pornography faces a dozen felony charges.
Deputies say 17-year-old David Allen Horne of the 100 block of Mary Lane in the Roseboro community near Goldsboro was identified as a suspect after the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit began investigating the case in August.
“During the investigation, it was determined that the defendant had created and possessed images and videos of young juveniles which were determined to be sexually explicit in nature,” Lt. J.D. Griffin said in a news release.
Horne was arrested Friday on one count of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 11 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The first-degree charge is a Class C felony carrying a sentence of 1 year, 8 months to 7 years, 8 months for an offender with no prior criminal history. Third-degree sexual exploitation is a Class H felony with a presumptive 4-8 month sentence for each count, according to North Carolina structured sentencing laws.
Horne was booked into the Wayne County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.
