After a near-perfect weekend in the greater Wilson area, expect a return to typical summer heat and humidity to start the workweek, Al Thomas Jr. advises in the latest installment of The Wilson Times Weathercast brought to you by

Daytime highs should be between 83-85 degrees on Saturday and 85-88 degrees Sunday with less than a 10% chance of rain. High temperatures will increase to the 88-90-degree range Monday and Tuesday with humid air pushing the heat index well into the mid-90s.

Rain chances will begin edging upward, from 20% late Monday to 30% Tuesday afternoon to 40% on Wednesday. The average high for this time of year is in the mid-80s with an average low in the mid-60s.

Albert Thomas Jr., a Wilson attorney and retired judge, will weigh in on Wilson's weather conditions each Tuesday and Saturday. Thomas is a forecast aficionado who recalls Wilson community weatherman Joe Overman's broadcasts on WVOT radio.
