Friday, June 30, was a bittersweet day for members of the Selma EMS team.
After 45 years, Selma EMS ceased operation at 7 p.m. and Johnston EMS assumed control of first response operations.
“It was kind of emotional to see your vehicles leave the bay and the county trucks come on board,” said Thomas White, former Selma EMS board chairman. “But it’s refreshing to know our community is in good hands. The change was immediate change, and everyone will continue to be well protected and well served.”
