Kenly Town Council will not hold its regularly month meeting tonight, Sept. 11.
Town Clerk Sharon Evans said the meeting was cancelled because there is no business to come before Council and because the town has no town manager.
An interim has been hired but will not report for work until Oct. 1. The new interim is Jon Barlow, recently retired as Selma’s town manager. The previous town manager, Richard Hicks, resigned two weeks ago to take a full-time job in Virginia.
Evans said she is unaware if the Council has scheduled any interviews to replace Greg Dunham, who resigned in April to take the town manager’s job in Gulf Stream, Florida.
