NC Hwy Patrol investigates NC 222 single vehicle accident

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle accident dispatched Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 2:57 p.m.

The accident happened at 6026 NC 222, about five miles west of Kenly. An unidentified woman lost control of a red Chevy Blazer and the SUV overturned, blocking the driveway at the home. There also was an unidentified passenger in the vehicle.

The residents, who asked not to be identified, were inside the house when the accident happened. There were no witnesses.

A woman who lives at the house told a Highway Patrol officer that residents smashed the rear window of the Blazer to help the victims escape the vehicle.

Both the driver and passenger were transported to WakeMed by Johnston County EMS. Their names and conditions have not been released.
