Smokin’ Black Jack wins BBQ cook-off

Taking home the first place trophy and bragging rights in the Tobacco Farm Life Museum TFLM BBQ Challenge barbecue cook-off fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 12 was the Smokin’ Black Jack barcue team of Goldsboro with chief chef Ashley Wheeler.

Second place went to the Kirby Que team of Kenly with chief chef Curtis Kirby and third place was awarded to Big Country BBQ of Wendell with chief chef Gary Hooks.

Southern Traditions team of Grifton with chief chef Chris Whitehurst won the showmanship competition.
