Princeton boys top Clayton, 46-38

The Princeton Middle boys’ basketball team is gearing up for the 2017-2018 winter basketball season under the direction and leadership of new coach Tyler Beasley.

The team is welcoming back five eighth graders as well as introducing some new players.

Selma boys fall, 32-17, to McGee’s

The Selma Middle School boys’ basketball team is gearing up for the 2017-2018 winter season under the direction of head coach Larry Lindsay.

“These young men have worked hard,” Lindsay said. “They are getting a little better every day. Our goal is to see improvement at each stage of the season.”

NJ Middle beat Archer Lodge

Last Thursday, North Johnston Middle girls basketball team started out on top, winning 27-24 at home against Archer Lodge Middle.

North has three players returning from last season and with several newcomers. The team has six eighth graders and fours seventh graders.

Princeton girls fall 32-20 to Clayton

Princeton Middle girls basketball team is jump starting its season under new head coach Janna Rogerson.

“These girls are working incredibly hard in practice and are improving each and every day,” Rogerson said. “My goal for them is to continue improving, learning and putting the things we work on in practice into games.”

NJ boys fall at Archer Lodge

North Johnston Middle boys’ basketball team sustained a 54-18 loss to begin the season against Archer’s Lodge Middle.

“The boys played hard for the entire game, but could not stop the bigger and faster Archer’s Lodge team,” head coach Garfield Baker said. “Despite the loss, we are looking forward to conference play and we are hoping for a better performance.”
