Sassy Feet places second in national competition

Sassy Feet, a Selma senior dance troupe, was named first runner up in the Seniors Got Talent  annual online video contest. It showcased talented seniors and older adults from across the United States.

Based on an online voting system, the top three videos won cash prizes. The top three winners were named Jan. 1. The first runner up received  $500 cash.

Sassy Feet is a dance troupe which originated at the Harrison Center for Active Aging in Selma. They have been dancing together for three years. The team competed in the Johnston County Senior Games in Performing Arts with a jazz routine and won the Gold Medal in 2017 and represented Johnston County at the North Carolina Senior Games in September.

The members of Sassy Feet are: Della Gullatt, Clayton; Kathy Elmore, Selma; Mary Braswell, Selma; Sue Hodge, Smithfield; Kay Oliver, Smithfield; Joyce Ennis, Smithfield; Sylvia Proctor, Clayton and  BJ Woodall, Selma.
