North Johnston High School English teacher Lindsey Johnson is the school’s “Leading With the Heart” recipient in Johnston County Schools.

The honor, inspired by Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyewski’s book, “Leading With The Heart,” recognizes employees throughout the school system that demonstrate leadership, compassion and heart on a daily basis by going above and beyond in and outside of the classroom.

Johnson grew up in Clayton and now lives in Four Oaks with her husband Shane Johnson.

She graduated from Clayton High School in 2002 and from East Carolina University in 2006 with a degree in English education.

Johnson has taught for 11 years and all of those have been at North Johnston High School.

She is the daughter of Danny and Diane Creech.
