Princeton police applies for $13,000 camera grant

Princeton Police Chief Tyrone Sutton applied for a $13,000 state Governor’s Crime Commission Grant.

The non-matching grant would be used to purchase 13 video cameras. The cameras would be placed at the police department and the Ray M. Floors Community Park.

The in-house cameras would record in-house interviews, secure the evidence room and safety for on-duty officers at the police department.

“The cameras would capture video from drug and other criminal activity at the park,” said Sutton. “Crime plagues the playground area where small children play.”
