Panthers fall short in season opener

The North Johnston baseball team was held at bay in its season opening game at Fike in Wilson last Friday night as the Panthers dropped the 3-0 decision.

The Panthers managed just four hits for the whole game with none coming after the fourth frame.

Fike starting pitcher Trevor Mills picked up the win for his four innings of four-hit work in which he struck out five and helped to get out of trouble in the second and fourth innings. Chad Bean came on in relief in the fifth inning and struck out four more batters while not allowing a hit.
