Suzanne Napier has been named as Pine Level Elementary School adult volunteer of the year while fifth-grader Cooper Hall has been named student volunteer of the year at the school.
Napier, a 1994 graduate of Garner High School and now a resident of Pine Level, has been volunteering at Pine Level since January primarily in Carla Johnson’s second grade class.
“Suzanne Napier has been very helpful in our classroom,” said Johnson. “Along with helping out with clerical work she enjoys reading with the students and helping them with their classwork. She has a real passion for working with children and is always encouraging them to do their best.”
Johnson said Napier has shown lots of school spirit by participating in several school-wide events including Read Across America Week where she dressed up as a tooth fairy storybook character and 100 Days Week where she dressed up as a 100-year-old lady.
“I enjoy working with these students and look forward to coming to school each day,” said Napier. “They are such a blessing and a joy to be around. I like helping them with their schoolwork and their crafts.”
