Disagreement between Ricks Road resident and Town of Selma over road project continues

The Ricks Road widening construction project continues to be a source of frustration for Selma resident Jean Kelly, who vented her frustration at the June 12 town council meeting.

Kelly, who lives at 310 Ricks Rd., also owns Rick’s Mobile Home Park, adjacent to her home.

The state Department of Transportation’s project is estimated to cost $3.3 million and should be completed by the end of the year.

The three-lane section on the widened road will provide the center turn lane that serves as a refuge for left turning vehicles, according to the NCDOT.

The Town of Selma also plans to add two sidewalks along Ricks Road.
