CLAYTON—The North Joh-nston football team wrapped up its 7-on-7 schedule for the summer last week with dates at Cleveland and at home against East Wake.

At Cleveland, the Panthers took turns facing off against Cleveland, Triton and West Johnston. The teams alternated taking offensive and defensive snaps against each other.

With many players unavailable due to various other commitments, Panthers coach Jon Riba used the opportunity to get a mix of familiar and new faces reps against 3A competition.

Garrett Brown and Travis Riba took turns at quarterback. With the Panthers’ top three pass catchers from last season returning for their senior seasons, the Panthers used the scrimmages as a chance to fine tune route running and having the signal callers work through their progressions downfield in live action.
