Wheelchair-bound Kenly woman killed on train tracks

A wheelchair-bound Kenly woman was killed by a train early Friday morning, according to Kenly Police Chief Josh Gibson, when her chair apparently became stuck on the tracks.

He said the woman was struck by a CSX train about 1 a.m.  The woman was in a motorized wheelchair. Gibson said the woman was attempting to cross at First Street.

Gibson said the name is not being released until later. He said other details also would be released later.
