PRINCETON—For Princeton boys basketball coach David Cobb, the summer league the Bulldogs participated in and hosted this year was never about wins and losses.

It had more to do with getting a jump start on the season this upcoming winter than was possible last year due to Cobb’s return to Princeton at the beginning of the summer for his second stint at the school.

So even as the summer league wrapped up with a pair of impressive efforts including a 70-49 win over West Johnston last Thursday night, Cobb was more concerned with how far ahead this upcoming year’s team is compared to last year.

“We are so far ahead of where we were last year,” said Cobb. “We couldn’t do anything offensively last year. This year, we’re learning to cut, to move without the ball and things are looking really good.”
