HICKORY–The Princeton Little League 8U coach-pitch baseball team was one of 12 teams that participated in the Tar Heel League’s state tournament last week in Hickory.

After the Bulldogs started things off on the right foot with a 12-6 victory over Granite Falls on Thursday, Princeton was knocked out of the double elimination tournament when it fell to Greene County, 12-1, and then to Hickory, 9-4, on Friday.

Against Granite Falls, coach Doug Roberson credited the Bulldogs’ defense and strong hitting as being keys to Princeton’s highlight moment of the tournament.
