Kenly utilities clerk resigns

Town of Kenly utility clerk Susan Phillips resigned Friday, Aug. 17, and the search for a replacement has begun, Kenly Town Manager Michael Douglas said.

“We recently conducted an external audit and based on policies and procedures not being followed, I asked for the resignation of Susan Phillips,” said Douglas.

Douglas said the town would advertise this week for a part-time solution to fill the vacancy and later for someone to work full-time.

“We are now accepting applications for the job, said Douglas. “

Its about time someone took a broom & started cleaning house in Kenly, the same old crowd has been “scratching”each others backs way too long,& getting by with it.Between the town of Kenly, the school,& the hospital in Smithfield certain folks thought they run this town,& they have for years, maybe NOW,we will see a change. If you need a new broom, just let me know,I’ll be happy to buy the town one.
