THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WAYNE COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA...
  WILSON COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA...

* UNTIL 200 PM EDT FRIDAY
  
* AT 752 AM EDT, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED BANDS OF HEAVY RAIN 
  ASSOCIATED WITH HURRICANE FLORENCE ROTATING INTO WAYNE AND WILSON 
  COUNTIES. RAINFALL RATES OF ONE TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR ARE 
  EXPECTED THROUGH MIDDAY. THE HEAVY RAIN COMBINED WITH THE RAIN 
  THAT HAS ALREADY FALLEN, WILL RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING OF AREA 
  STREAMS AND CREEKS. FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY.

STONEY CREEK BETWEEN EAST BEECH STREET AND ELM STREET... GLENDALE 
DRIVE NEAR NC-42...WOODBRIDGE ROAD AT CONTENTNEA CREEK...NC-222 NEAR 
CONTENTNEA CREAK...  RESIDENTIALS NEAR NC-42 AND BLOOMERY SWAMP... 
DAYTON AVENUE NEAR CONTENTNEA CREEK...  AIRPORT BOULEVARD AND 
STEDMAN DRIVE AND SAINT ROSE CHURCH ROAD AT CONTENTNEA CREEK.

LIFE THREATENING FLASH FLOODING IS OCCURRING ACROSS THE AREA. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL UNLESS YOU MUST DO SO TO ESCAPE THE FLOODING OR ARE
UNDER AN EVACUATION ORDER. IF YOU ARE IN A LOW LYING AREA, ALONG A
CREEK OR STREAM, OR IN AN AREA EXPERIENCING FLOODING, TAKE ACTION NOW
