Church plans yard sale fundraiser

PRINCETON — The Betty Massey Circle and the youth at Hephzibah Baptist Church located at 4633 US 70 E. will have a yard sale and bake sale from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 10. Craft, vendor fair scheduled

SMITHFIELD — Pisgah Baptist Church, 3689 N.C. 210, will have a craft and vendor fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 with vendors, handmade crafts and food such as Boston butts, homemade soups and Brunswick stew for sale. Arms Around Selma set for Nov. 17

SELMA — The Arms Around Selma community cleanup day will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 with volunteers meeting in the parking lot of Selma Elementary School located at 311 W. Richardson St.

Organizers are also holding a human resources class to help job-seekers, including those with criminal records. The free class will include tips on resume-writing, interviewing and business dress and is planned from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Nov. 17 at Selma Tabernacle, 206 E. Gingerbread house festival slated

SMITHFIELD — The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield will accept entries for its seventh annual Gingerbread House Festival during business hours from Monday, Dec. 3 through 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6.

Categories include family, for parents with children up to age 5, junior for ages 6 – 8, youth for ages 9 – 12, teen for ages 13 – 17 and adult for ages 18 and up. For more information, call Katie Barbour at 919-934-8146, option 3.
