STEM — The Princeton High girls soccer team advanced to the third round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 1-A playoffs for the second straight year after winning 1-0 at Granville Central on Thursday.

The Lady Bulldogs (15-2), the No. 11-seed in the East Region, got a goal from junior Veronica Blackman off a pass from sophomore Esbeydy Bautista to score the lone goal against the No. 6 Lady Panthers (13-8-1). Princeton’s freshman goalkeeper Kelsie Nance had nine saves for her 10th shutout of the season.

Princeton will take on No. 3 Raleigh Charter, last year’s East Region runner-up, with the time and date to be determined.
