Lady Panthers continue hot streak against Rosewood

GOLDSBORO — The North Johnston High varsity softball team scored 10 or more runs for the fourth straight game to win 15-3 at Rosewood on Wednesday, April 10.

Olivia Gachuz was the leading offensive force with a 3-for-4 performance including four runs batted in. The Lady Panthers of the 2-A Eastern Plains Conference rendered the 10-run mercy rule as they improved to 8-4. North Johnston’s pitching staff has allowed just eight runs in that time frame. Senior Amberlynn Pearce pitched five innings while allowing five hits, four runs, two earned runs and three walks while striking out eight. Pearce was also 1 for 3 at the plate with a run batted in.

Blyke Batten also was 2 for 3 with a double and a triple for two RBIs. Arial Pearce and Samantha Davis were both 1 for 3 with two RBIs.
