KENLY — A 2-0 halftime deficit was too much to overcome as the North Johnston boys soccer team fell 5-2 to East Bladen in the second round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 2-A playoffs on Saturday night.

North Johnston scored two goals in the second half, but were outscored once again as the Eagles scored three more goals to advance.

The loss brought an end to the Panthers’ (17-6-2) season after they won 12 games in a row, including a 10-0 run in the 2-A Eastern Plains Conference season that captured the team a conference title.
