Pirate volleyball takes down Knightdale

KNIGHTDALE — The Corinth Holders volleyball team dismantled Knightdale, 25-9, 25-13, 25-10, in three sets on Thursday for its fourth victory in a row in 4-A Northern Athletic Conference play.
A team effort helped give the Pirates (11-6, 5-1) to the victory over the Knights (6-10, 0-6). The Corinth Holders attack was powered by Madison Adams with 12 kills and Makenzie Holzer just behind her with 10 kills.
Jasmine Culp added a team-high 15 digs and two assists, while Kalyn Rogers had a team-high 22 assists. Gillian Lekander had six kills and four digs, Taylor Schombs had 11 digs and Emily Sharrock contribued 12 assists, two kills and six digs.
On Tuesday, Corinth Holders beat Wakefield, winning three match points in a row to capture the four-set victory, then swept South Garner at home Wednesday.
The Pirates will take on 3-A Greater Neuse River Conference opponent Clayton on Monday.
