RALEIGH — The Princeton High football team hung 60 points on Wake Christian to keep up its high-scoring pace this season in the 60-20 rout on Sept. 20.
With a 28-point effort as the low point against Granville Central, the Bulldogs have averaged 45 points so far this season in a 4-0 start.
Princeton was electrified by an 80-yard kick return from Jaydon Brooks on its first offensive play of the game to take an 8-6 lead midway through the first quarter.
From that point, the Bulldogs led the rest of the game, with Brooks scoring once more in the opening quarter.
In the second quarter, four rushing touchdowns, including a 51-yard score by Harley Bartholomew put the Bulldogs up 44-12 at the half.
The Bulldogs followed in the third quarter with a final touchdown from Bartholomew and Brooks each to end its scoring night.
With the visitors up 48 points, Wake Christian scored one final time on an 18-yard touchdown pass and successful two-point conversion.
Princeton, which has won 13 regular-season games in a row, will welcome North Johnston for a rivalry matchup.
