SMITHFIELD — The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield is preparing to reopen on a limited basis.

Starting June 8, the library will allow up to 50 people inside at one time. Patrons may browse the shelves and check out materials, but they may not use meeting spaces.

The library will allow patrons to use computers by appointment only.

The library has hand sanitizer stations throughout the building to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The staff will wear face masks, and shields are in place at customer service desks.

Also, the library will continue to offer curbside services through the end of July.

For more information, or to schedule curbside pickup or computer use, call 919-934-8146.
